in aid of Special Olympics Ireland
We have been proud supporters of Special Olympics Ireland since 2009 and were thrilled to participate in their Plane Pull fundraiser in Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel.
7 members of the Insomnia Team took on the ultimate test of strength and team work successfully pulling a 10,450lb aeroplane!
As part of the event, the team set up a group fundraising page and have currently raised €2,275 for the amazing athletes of Special Olympics Ireland.
Special Olympics Ireland transforms lives through sport. As a sports organisation for people with intellectual disability from the age of 4 years old with no upper age limit. Through Special Olympics Ireland, nearly 8,000 athletes from across the island of Ireland participate in 15 different sports, fostering inclusion, skill development, and community engagement.
Special Olympics Ireland offer sports health and leadership programmes, where their athletes learn to be physically, mentally and emotionally fit. Through these programmes, athletes have the opportunity to learn new skills, boost their confidence, experience the joy of sports and build life-long friendships.
Events like the Plane Pull Fundraiser support the incredible work of Special Olympics Ireland and their athletes, promoting inclusivity and fostering a more accepting society.
