Insomnia are proud to be sponsors of this year’s Ennis Book Club Festival. The Ennis Book Club Festival took place from 6th-8th March 2020 and is a literary festival which aims to promote and celebrate reading and books.
Ennis town was bustling with avid book readers from all around Ireland and further afield who came together to share their love of books! Not only does the festival include author readings, discussions but also debates on topical affairs, workshops, poetry readings, music and walking tours around the historic streets of Ennis.
At Insomnia, we think nothing beats sitting down with a perfectly made coffee and a good book, so we operate a popular Book Swap system in stores whereby customers can take a book from our library home with them if one is left in its place. Our store manager, Charlotte, also took part in the window display competition and transformed the store windows into a Willy Wonka themed Wonderland!
On Saturday the 7th of March, Insomnia @ Ennis, O’ Connell Street hosted writer Ian Maleney and creative producer Brendan Mav Evilly in store where they had a discussion in advance of their live audio-visual essay “Minor Monuments”. Minor Monuments is set around a small family farm on the edge of a bog in the Irish midlands and is a thought-provoking presentation on family and loss.
