It was an exciting day as Insomnia Portlaoise opened on Thursday, 7th June in the Kyle Shopping Centre in Portlaoise town! Lead by store manager Katarzyna the new team of 6 staff were off to a busy start as customers were looking for ICECAPs to cool down in the lovely summer weather.

Located beside Dunnes Stores, this is a busy area of Portlaoise and Insomnia are excited to be the first coffee shop in the Kyle Shopping Centre, with plenty of parking around the shopping centre for visiting customers.

Store manager, Katarzyna’s favourite coffee during the summer months is an iced latte and she is sure that the summer iced drinks will go down a treat in Portlaoise. She loves the book swap system and the big windows in the new store which let lots of natural light in. The wall features in Portlaoise include tea cup clocks with cups bought from second hand shops in the Liberties, Dublin, coffee inspired messages, wall galleries and, of course, the large bookshelves.

The full Insomnia menu is available in store including Insomnia’s new Voyager coffee blend and the summer drinks menu. The popular Brunch ICECAP™, is back for a second year, made up of smooth vanilla and strawberry blended frappe coated in the signature Brunch biscuit crumble. Insomnia’s delicious iced drinks including the Watermelon Granita and Raspberry Lemonade are sure to quench your thirst this summer in Portlaoise or if you’re looking for your usual coffee hit why not try your favourite coffee on ice.
