20 Mar2020 Customer Update: Covid-19
Insomnia Coffee Company has made the difficult decision to close all company owned stores on the island of Ireland from today 20th March 2020 until it’s sensible to reopen.
While we wish we could remain open to offer you the best coffee and an escape in these uncertain times, we need to do the right thing to protect our team members, their families, our customers and communities, and do our part to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
We will continue to re-evaluate these store closures but will only reopen once it is safe to do so. This will be done on a store by store and a community by community basis.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for your unwavering support and understanding as we have navigated these uncertain times. We look forward to welcoming you all in store when this current but temporary situation has passed.
We must take our hats off to our amazing team members (many of whom have been with Harry our CEO and Insomnia from day one) who have had to adapt very quickly to new measures put in place sometimes on daily/hourly basis to maintain a safe environment for all. With the temporary store closures, we can now put 100% of our energy into supporting our team members and their ever-evolving needs in the new reality we face together. Because facing it together is the only way forward.
We will donate any leftover stock we have in stores to local hospitals and charities where possible.
For now, we encourage our teams and customers to stay at home with loved ones and to keep kindness at the forefront of our lives, so that together we can help flatten the curve of this spread. To our colleagues and partners in essential retail who don’t have the option of shutting their doors, we truly appreciate you.
In the meantime, our deepest gratitude goes out to all the front-line medical professionals. You really are superheroes.
We must stand apart today so that we can stand together tomorrow..
