Insomnia have been long term supporters of Special Olympics Ireland (all the way back to 2009) where we have been contributing to their Annual Collection Day by donating 5c from every Hot Beverage sold that day.
So when they challenged us to take on their Croke Park Abseil challenge in aid of their Support an Athlete Campaign, we literally jumped at the chance!
18 Insomnia team members took part, raising an incredible €6,621! The funds raised went towards supporting team Ireland's 73 athletes and 34-strong coaching & management team competing in 12 sporting events at the World Summer Games in Berlin 17th-25th June 2023.
About Special Olympics Ireland
Special Olympics Ireland is a sports organisation for people with an intellectual disability from the age of 4 years old with no upper age limit. Currently almost 8,000 athletes from across the island of Ireland participate in 15 different sports through Special Olympics.
Through sports, health and leadership programmes athletes learn to be physically, mentally and emotionally fit. They get to learn new skills, increase confidence and most importantly they get to experience the joy of sport and make life-long friendships!
